After washing dishes, it was now time to go ahead and cook. As I was getting the utensils I was to use ready, I noticed that I preferred to use what I had just recently personally washed, in preference to what had already been on the shelves awhile. This is because I was sure of their freshness and cleanliness, and seeing as I had worked on them inside and out, they were up to my par, and so I was confident in using them.
I thought maybe that’s how it is with God. He’d like to work with those vessels on which He’s already worked on, because He has, so to say, quality assurance. So if we want God to work with and through us, we have got to let Him work in and on us first…else He wouldn’t trust us for His purposes, and certainly not for His greater works. I tend to think this is true because of how strongly I experienced that, and the bible tells me that we are made in the image of God.
