How was your weekend?
On Friday, I attended Urban Rhythms and Rhymes night at Santuri Music and Arts Center. It was a lovely time, full of high quality music and word-strings, and marvelous achievements, such as a 9 year old painter!
Having been a performer in the previous event, people expected me to carry my books for sale….and I hadn’t. Good lesson learnt, I will carry them in all other events! I must say I was glad that people wanted to buy my book…:-)
On Saturday, I accompanied my husband to speak to the candidates. He was the main speaker, and I was glad to listen to what he had to say, about purpose in life, and life after exams. I also spoke briefly, and encouraged the girls (especially) (pardon the bias:-))
Sunday was lovely. I held a Make-Up party for some of my little girl friends, and we had an awesome time. We had had a cutex party the last time, which we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I am glad to have these young girls come over to my house, and I am especially glad for the opportunity to speak some positive things into their lives. We went over My Encouragement Box, as we had not done so with these particular girls. Then we had a make-up process lesson, all the way from scrub to mascara and lipstic. Boy did we all have a blast together!
I let them choose the topic for the next time, and they chose Talent Party. They will each perform something in their individual areas of talent, and they will also invite their friends to come along. So they will be my distinguished guests…I like to make them feel special, I like to make all girls feel special and important.
Later in the evening, during our monthly Super Soul Sunday youth service, I ministered with a song, and I was glad for the opportunity to encourage people that way.
Well, it’s Monday now, and I’m back to work, and I’m grateful to God for my job. I also am looking forward to ministering in two schools on two weekends this month-we were invited yesterday evening.
I hope your weekend was great too. Enjoy a most fabulous and inspiring week ahead.
