The Ministry of Ordinary Places: Waking Up to God’s Goodness Around You
By Shannan Martin
The 118-page book is divided into 19 chapters and comes highly recommended by quite a few people. It is written in an easy-to-read conversational tone.
However, for some unknown reason, this was one book that was difficult for me to read. I simply did not flow with it. I kept finding myself getting distracted and moving on to other things whenever I began to read it. I think I’ll put it aside for another season of my life, and maybe I’ll be able to read it better then This is the second time in my life that I am failing to connect with a book and stick with it to the end.
All the same, from what I was able to read, I will give my review.
The cover seems to be targeting the woman who stays home to take care of her family. As such, I expected a message that would be ministering to women, and specifically so. I didn’t quite get that feel. Also, although the author put in stories in the book, I found myself drifting away, perhaps feeling that it was rather wordy.
